Getting fit by fifty
Day 8 is off to a great start!!!! Sydney was in the mood for grilled chicken without the salad. I love the salad! Doing a little Pinterest research and Larabars are Advocare friendly, and tasty. Can't wait for our Advocare order to arrive - trying the Berry Meal Replacement Shake and also got in on the Blue Raspberry Spark!
Hope everyone had a great day!!! Two more days in the cleanse phase!!!

Heating up leftovers is a breeze. We put on a can of Allen's green beans. Once they got to a boil, we put the leftover hamburger (93% lean), chicken and hotdog (93% lean) in a metal colander and put it over the green beans to steam. It smelled so good and it tastes so much better than heating up in the microwave. Freezing bananas for this weeks sweet treats. Frozen banana bites with peanut butter and you can also put the frozen slices in the food processor with peanut butter, unsweet coco and sweetner of your choice. It tastes just like ice cream - and it's Advocare friendly!
Happy Sunday! This morning we cooked turkey bacon on the griddle. Scrambled 6 eggs, only used 2 of the yolks. Cit up some avocado and a home grown tomato ~ Yum!
We rejoined our church this week, Clapps Chapel UMC. ❤ Pator Bill reminded us how important family is. Enjoy your family today! Sometimes you just need to run through a drive thru when you are on the road and busy. So today we decided to stop by Chick-fil-a and try their new Egg White Grill without cheese. It is Advocare friendly and rings in at about 250 calories without the cheese. Overall it was pretty good! It is definitely a nice change from the meal replacement shake. If you have any other healthy fast food options you like to share please comment below!
I am going to place an Advocare order this weekend, if anyone is interested in trying out some of the products or taking the plunge to do the 24 Day Challenge!!!!
Advocare Spark is a great energy drink and comes in a wide variety of flavors. The meal replacements are tasty too! If you are ready to challenge - I will personally help you with your meal prep thru the Challenge!!! Here is a link to my distributor site if you want to take a look around: https://www.advocare.com/160352375/ Comment below and I will get in touch with you. It's Friday!!!! We are half way thru the cleanse phase and going strong. I have mentioned before, hearing people say- Oh, I have so much more energy and thought to myself - that would be so nice! This morning I feel great!!
My wonderful husband, B, grilled us some chicken last night to get us thru this last day of the week. Syd wanted hers plain with lite ranch to dip it in. The cleanse says to avoid dairy, but if two tablespoons keeps her on track then I am all for it!!!! I mixed my chicken up with some black beans and salsa and I am going to cut up 1/2 of the avocado in it too!!! Hope everyone is enjoying the blog and thank you for following our journey. This accountability is doing wonders to keep us straight! Have a great day!!! I took Anna to do a little school shopping today. Walmart has these divided dishes with utensils for $1.50 each.
We also found new lunch boxes- they are bigger to hold our food variety and waters 👍🍏🍌🍓🌶 The struggle to be faithful to the diet is real!!!! Yesterday, I got a text from Sydney that says - Mommy, I want McDonalds! I feel - LOL. We texted it out and both got busy at work. It passed without a trip to Mickey D's.
Last night we celebrated my brother in law's birthday at Calhoun's. It smelled soooooo good!!! We made a choice (yes, it is a choice) to share the smoked chicken, with brown rice and broccoli. We got thru it laughing with our friends and family. The scale moved down this morning! I am proud of us Sydney!!! Hey, guys! It's Sydney here, and I have officially made it further in the 24 Day Challenge than the last time I attempted it! YAY!!!! Yesterday was a struggle because I was really starting to crave fast food. There is no doubt in my mind that I am probably addicted to fast food because I would eat it every single day, and sometimes more than once a day. I am very excited to continue with this challenge because I know once it is over all of the bad things will have been cleaned out of my system, and I hope to not crave fast food anymore. If I can do this, so can anyone else. No matter your age, weight, or busy schedule, I promise you can do it! I am a morbidly obese woman addicted to junk food, but I have survived 3 days (we are now on the 4th) and I already feel better than I did before I started. I went from being exhausted all day to feeling more alert and energized at work, and it's only been 3 days. I am hopeful of my future, and I am excited to see where this journey of getting healthy takes me.
